Tensions across West Asia continue to escalate following US and Israeli strikes on Iran, triggering retaliatory attacks across parts of the Middle East, including the United Arab Emirates (UAE). With airspace closures and hundreds of flight cancellations, thousands of passengers have been stranded and among them several Indian celebrities currently in Dubai. Actor R. Madhavan addressed concerns about his safety after fans flooded social media with worried messages.

R Madhavan Confirms His Safety

Madhavan, who had shifted to Dubai with his family during the COVID-19 pandemic, clarified that he is not in the UAE at present but in the United States. The Dhurandhar actor reassured fans that he and his family are safe and will remain in the US until the situation stabilizes. Taking to Instagram, Madhavan shared updates about relief measures being implemented by UAE authorities. He revealed that the government has instructed hotels to provide free accommodation to guests unable to travel due to sudden airspace closures.

He also reposted news reports urging residents to stay indoors during the tense situation. According to some of the media reports, the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism issued a circular directing hotel general managers to offer complimentary stays to stranded travelers, with the state covering the costs. Authorities have also arranged immediate accommodation, meals, and refreshments for over 20,000 affected passengers. Efforts are ongoing to help travelers with rebooking once flights resume.

While Madhavan is safe abroad, several Indian celebrities remain stranded in Dubai. Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar, Bollywood actresses Esha Gupta and Sonal Chauhan, Telugu actor Vishnu Manchu, Bigg Boss fame Manya Singh, and Bengali actress Subhashree Ganguly along with her son are reportedly in the city. Many of them have been sharing updates with fans, expressing concern yet hoping for a swift resolution so they can return to India.

Meanwhile, veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar voiced his strong opinion on the escalating global unrest. Posting on X, he criticized the political leadership involved, stating that recent actions have crossed limits and warning of serious consequences for global trust and stability. As the conflict enters its fourth day, uncertainty looms large over international travel in the region.
