Ranbir Kapoor Had Argument on Sets
During the making-of video of this beautiful yet exciting song, the popular director known for Brahmastra, Ayan Mukerji revealed that Ranbir Kapoor absolutely hates colors and getting wet, which made shooting a Holi song extremely challenging for him. In fact, Ranbir was so irritated during the shoot that he would rush off to wash his face and bathe after almost every take.

A behind-the-scenes footage shows Ranbir repeatedly scrubbing colors off his face during the shoot. At one point, he’s seen wrapped in a towel after a bath, sitting aside and watching the chaos unfold. Frustrated and exhausted, he jokingly declared that no one would like the song. In the video, he can be heard saying that being covered in colors all day felt dirty and uncomfortable. He even mock-blamed choreographer Remo D’Souza, music composer Pritam, and Ayan for putting him through the ordeal.

Things escalated further when Ayan secretly instructed all the dancers to throw colors on Ranbir simultaneously during a shot without informing him that might have deteriorated the situation. Caught off guard, Ranbir later found out about the prank. In playful revenge, he lifted Ayan and several assistant directors and threw them into a pool filled with color-mixed water.

Years later, while promoting Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar, Ranbir admitted that shooting Balam Pichkari was one of the toughest experiences of his career due to the intense sunlight, heavy crowd of dancers, and nonstop color drenching. Despite all the struggles, Balam Pichkari went on to become the ultimate Holi party anthem, proving that sometimes, the most difficult shoots create the most unforgettable magic on screen.
