<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\nNEW DELHI: The next big wave of reforms must come from the states if India wants to become a developed nation by 2047, as most of the heavy lifting at the Centre has been done, Niti Aayog<\/a> CEO BVR Subrahmanyam said Saturday.\u201cMost of the action in India is now at the state level. The government of India did probably 90% of what it had to do,\u201d Subrahmanyam said at an event organised by the All India Management Association.\u201cLand is state, labour is state, electricity is state, water supply is state, roads are state,\u201d he said.\u201cDifferences in state-level governance now determine growth outcomes. States that push reforms move ahead, while others risk falling behind,\u201d added Subrahmanyam.He said India\u2019s demographic profile gives it a significant opportunity. \u201cIndia is in for good times\u2026 demography is behind us, our capabilities are behind us and there is wind in our sails,\u201d however, he said becoming a developed nation will require sustained high growth.At the event, Vianai Systems founder Vishal Sikka said India must build its own AI stack and not become dependent on systems it does not understand or control.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
