{"id":2281,"date":"2026-02-15T17:46:41","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T17:46:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/d.sheep-mine.ts.net\/?p=2281"},"modified":"2026-02-15T17:46:41","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T17:46:41","slug":"128390731-cms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/d.sheep-mine.ts.net\/?p=2281","title":{"rendered":"Six of top-10 firms lose over Rs 3 lakh crore in market cap; TCS, Infosys hit hard &#8211; The Times of India"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"MwN2O\">\n<div class=\"vdo_embedd\">\n<div class=\"T22zO\">\n<section class=\"D3Wk1  clearfix id-r-component leadmedia undefined undefined  VtlfQ\" style=\"top:0px\">\n<div class=\"D3Wk1\" data-ua-type=\"1\" onclick=\"stpPgtnAndPrvntDefault(event)\">\n<div class=\"zPaFh\">\n<div class=\"wJnIp\"><img src=\"https:\/\/static.toiimg.com\/thumb\/msid-128390885,imgsize-846319,width-400,resizemode-4\/untitled-design-2026-02-15t225012.jpg\" alt=\"Six of top-10 firms lose over Rs 3 lakh crore in market cap; TCS, Infosys hit hard\" title=\"&lt;p&gt;File photo&lt;\/p&gt;\" decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The combined market valuation of six of the top-10 most valued firms eroded by more than Rs 3 lakh crore last week, with IT majors Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/infosys\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" commonstate=\"[object Object]\" frmappuse=\"1\">Infosys<\/a> emerging as the biggest laggards amid a bearish trend in equities.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"4\"\/>The 30-share <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/bse-sensex\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" commonstate=\"[object Object]\" frmappuse=\"1\">BSE Sensex<\/a> declined 953.64 points, or 1.14 per cent, during the week.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"8\"\/>Besides TCS and Infosys, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/hdfc-bank\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" commonstate=\"[object Object]\" frmappuse=\"1\">HDFC Bank<\/a>, <!-- -->Reliance Industries<!-- -->, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), and Bharti Airtel faced erosion in their valuations. <span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"14\"\/>In contrast, State Bank of India (SBI), Bajaj Finance, Larsen &amp; Toubro and ICICI Bank were the gainers.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"16\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h3>IT majors take the biggest hit<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"18\"\/>TCS saw its market valuation tumble by Rs 90,198.92 crore to Rs 9,74,043.43 crore, while Infosys\u2019 valuation eroded by Rs 70,780.23 crore to Rs 5,55,287.72 crore.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"22\"\/>HDFC Bank\u2019s market capitalisation declined by Rs 54,627.71 crore to Rs 13,93,621.92 crore. Reliance Industries\u2019 valuation plunged Rs 41,883 crore to Rs 19,21,475.79 crore.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"24\"\/>LIC\u2019s market capitalisation dropped Rs 23,971.74 crore to Rs 5,46,226.80 crore, while Bharti Airtel\u2019s valuation declined Rs 19,244.61 crore to Rs 11,43,044.03 crore.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"26\"\/>On the other hand, SBI\u2019s valuation jumped Rs 1,22,213.38 crore to Rs 11,06,566.44 crore.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"29\"\/>Bajaj Finance added Rs 26,414.44 crore, taking its market cap to Rs 6,37,244.64 crore, while Larsen &amp; Toubro\u2019s valuation increased Rs 14,483.9 crore to Rs 5,74,028.93 crore. ICICI Bank\u2019s market capitalisation rose Rs 5,719.95 crore to Rs 10,11,978.77 crore.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"31\"\/>Reliance Industries remained the most valued firm, followed by HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, SBI, ICICI Bank, TCS, Bajaj Finance, Larsen &amp; Toubro, Infosys and LIC.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"34\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h3>Broad-based selloff weighs on markets<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"36\"\/>The erosion in market capitalisation came amid a broader selloff in equities.
