NEW DELHI: External affairs minister S Jaishankar will visit United Arab Emirates later this month, announced the ministry of external affairs on Wednesday.“EAM will pay an official visit to the United Arab Emirates from 11 to 12 April 2026,” said the MEA. <\/p>\n Watch<\/span><\/p>\n India Welcomes US-Iran Peace Push But Warns Against Further Disruption In Hormuz Supply Chain Route<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n During the visit, EAM will meet the leadership of the UAE to review close cooperation and deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries,” it added.Jaishankar’s Middle East visit comes as tensions between the US and Iran seem to subside for now with the two nations agreeing on a two-week ceasefire, aimed at pausing hostilities and reopening the strategically critical Strait of Hormuz, a key artery for global oil shipments. However, the truce remains fragile, with uncertainty over its implementation and continued concerns around maritime security and energy flows.With regards to ensuring people’s safety overall in Iran, India has taken precautionary steps to safeguard its citizens. The Indian Embassy in Tehran has advised nationals to \u201cexpeditiously exit\u201d Iran through designated routes, while cautioning against uncoordinated movement towards international borders. Of the estimated 9,000 Indians present in Iran at the onset of the conflict, around 1,800 have returned so far.Meanwhile, the MEA also revealed that Jaishankar will visit Mauritius on April 9 and 10 to participate in the 9th Indian Ocean Conference.
