Rajpal Yadav was recently granted bail after surrendering at Tihar Jail earlier this February in connection Rs 9 crore debt case that dates back to 2012. Just before turning himself in, the actor had told the media that he did not have the means to repay the amount, triggering conversations about the financial struggles faced by character actors in the film industry. The situation led to several members of the industry stepping forward in support, even initiating efforts to offer him work and sign him for new projects.However, after being released on bail, Rajpal dismissed the perception that he had been struggling professionally. Reiterating his stance during a conversation with Farah Khan on her YouTube vlog, he maintained that he has consistently been working throughout his career spanning nearly three decades.Reacting to his extensive filmography, Farah remarked, “I think you must have done at least 100 films with just Priyadarshan sir.” Rajpal, known for films like Bhagam Bhag, Malamaal Weekly, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa, responded with a laugh, saying, “I have actually done at least 50 films each with Ram Gopal Varma, Priyadarshan and David Dhawan.”Highlighting the early momentum of his career, he added, “In the very first year (2000), the industry bestowed me with so much love and fame that I have finished doing at least 200 films,” underlining that he has never been out of work.Farah then joked about his indispensability, saying, “Even Salman [Khan] can’t do without you.” Rajpal agreed, replying, “Yes, Salman bhai and Akshay bhai both can’t do. I have also done at least four films with Shah Rukh Khan.”Continuing the lighthearted exchange, Farah teased him about not featuring in her films: “Yes, but you haven’t worked in any of my films.” Rajpal responded candidly, “Honestly, you never gave me an opportunity. Please tell me, who on earth was not wanting to be part of Main Hoon Na?”When Farah asked what role she could have possibly offered him in that film, Rajpal sidestepped the question and added, “Who wasn’t desperate to be in Om Shanti Om?” Farah laughed in agreement, saying, “Yes, true that. 100%.”
