Actress Anita Advani is once again in the spotlight after the Bombay High Court dismissed her plea seeking legal recognition of her alleged marriage with late superstar Rajesh Khanna. The decision marks a significant development in a long-running legal battle between Anita Advani and the actor’s family, which has been ongoing since 2012. The High Court dismissed Anita Advani’s appeal after hearing arguments from legal representatives of Dimple Kapadia, Akshay Kumar, and Twinkle Khanna.

Anita had sought official recognition of her relationship with Rajesh Khanna as a marriage, claiming she lived with him in a long-term live-in relationship at his bungalow and was treated as his partner. In multiple interviews, Anita Advani has alleged that she and Rajesh Khanna were secretly married in a private ceremony at home. According to her, the wedding took place in a small temple inside the house.

She claimed that the actor applied sindoor on her forehead and made her wear a mangalsutra, symbolizing marriage. Anita also stated that they chose not to make their relationship public, as such matters were often kept private in the film industry. Anita Advani further claimed that her relationship with Rajesh Khanna began even before his marriage to Dimple Kapadia. She said they were deeply in love during their younger years but eventually separated due to personal differences.

Later, Rajesh Khanna married Dimple Kapadia, while Anita moved away from his life, only to reconnect with him years later. The controversy surrounding their relationship deepened after Anita Advani made serious allegations against the late actor. In interviews, she claimed that Rajesh Khanna would sometimes behave aggressively and allegedly subjected her to physical and verbal abuse.

She also stated that his behavior would worsen when he was under the influence of alcohol, although she described him as caring during calmer moments. Anita Advani has maintained that she was with Rajesh Khanna until his death in 2012 and supported him during his illness. She even claimed she was present when he was diagnosed with cancer. However, she alleged that she was denied entry to his funeral and was removed from his residence after his passing, claims that further fueled the legal dispute.
