Nearly three years after their lavish destination wedding in Jaipur, actress Hansika Motwani and businessman Sohael Kathuria have officially ended their marriage. The Bandra Family Court in Mumbai recently granted the couple a divorce, marking the conclusion of their relationship that had once captured widespread public attention. According to reports, the separation was mutually agreed upon, with both parties acknowledging that their marriage was no longer sustainable.

The couple had reportedly been living separately since July 2024 before deciding to formally dissolve their marriage. As per court filings and media reports, the couple experienced frequent disagreements, even over minor issues, which gradually made it difficult for them to continue living together. Hansika’s lawyer Adnan Shaikh confirmed the development while speaking to NDTV.

He clarified that the actress has not sought any alimony or maintenance as part of the divorce settlement. In a statement following the court’s decision, Shaikh said, “The divorce was granted by mutual consent after both parties acknowledged that the marriage had irretrievably broken down. It is important to clarify that our client has not filed any claim for alimony or maintenance, as her sole intention was to end the marriage amicably and peacefully. Our client now wishes to move on with her life and professional commitments.”

A media report cited the divorce petition, stated that Hansika and Sohael often argued over trivial matters, which made it increasingly difficult for them to maintain a harmonious relationship. Their parents, relatives, and friends reportedly made several attempts to reconcile the couple. However, those efforts were unsuccessful, and the two eventually decided to separate. They had been living apart since July 2, 2024, before finally filing for divorce.

Speculation about trouble in their marriage had already begun earlier when fans noticed that Hansika had removed several wedding photos from her Instagram account, sparking rumors about a possible split.
