Actor Rajpal Yadav recently addressed the media in Mumbai amid the ongoing ₹9 crore cheque bounce case against him. Accompanied by his lawyer Bhaskar Upadhyay, the actor spoke candidly about his legal battle, public support, and a packed slate of upcoming films. During the interaction, Rajpal responded to claims that actor Sonu Sood had supported him professionally by signing him for a film during tough times.

Reacting to the narrative, Rajpal said, “Please get over the misconception that I have to constantly ask for work. And there’s no shame in asking for work.” He emphasized that acting is both his livelihood and passion and said, “I make a living from my work. Cinema is my passion, and I work in such a way that I get four times more work. I even work during holidays. Work doesn’t find me; it’s been with me for the last 11 years.”

His statement underlined his belief in professional self-reliance and consistent performance in the industry. Despite legal troubles, Rajpal revealed he has a strong lineup of projects in the pipeline. Bhoot Bangla, his first collaboration this year with Priyadarshan. Welcome to the Jungle, featuring an ensemble cast of 27 actors and Haiwaan where he plays a small but brilliant role.

Apart from these, he confirmed two web series and two additional films, though he refrained from revealing further details. Rajpal also made some striking revelations at the press conference. He claimed to have projects lined up for the next seven years, including branding ventures valued at over ₹1,000 crore. According to the actor, he has signed four large-scale agreements, each budgeted between ₹200 crore and ₹2,000 crore.

In a significant legal development, the Delhi High Court recently granted interim stay on Rajpal Yadav’s sentence in the cheque bounce case until March 18. The bench led by Justice Swaran Kant Sharma directed him to submit a personal bond of ₹1 lakh and a surety of ₹1 lakh. The court also noted that ₹1.5 crore had already been deposited into the concerned party’s bank account at the time of granting relief.
