NEW DELHI: A private mini aircraft crashed into an open field in Karnataka’s Vijayapura district on Sunday afternoon, police said. The two-seater aircraft went down at Mangaluru village in Babaleshwar taluk of Vijayapura. Two people, including the pilot, were on board at the time of the incident.According to news agency PTI, both occupants managed to eject before the crash, narrowly escaping with their lives. However, the aircraft broke into three pieces on impact.The two sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their condition is not immediately known.Preliminary information suggests that the aircraft was a training plane and was flying from Kalaburagi to Belagavi when the crash occurred.
